A while back Nik Peachey suggested creating a music video as a learning activity. I decided to challenge my students into doing that. The result, as you can see below, is pretty amazing. :)

ZarcoEnglish 2008/09 - Final Assessment
I asked my students to write their final assessment of the work they developed in the ZarcoEnglish project. They wrote it in Portuguese because I wanted to make sure they were able to express themselves freely. I also recorded some of them on video, both in Portuguese and in English.

A ferramenta que mais gostei de utilizar foi o “Vocaroo” porque foi interessante gravar várias vezes até obter uma boa gravação.Eu adorei este projecto. Apesar de ter sido complicado conciliar este projecto com a escola, foi bom aprender a mexer com novas ferramentas e utilizar a Internet de outros modos. Este projecto teve como vantagens apresentar trabalhos de formas lúdicas e praticar o meu inglês. Não encontro desvantagens possíveis.Claro que este projecto ajudou a melhorar o meu inglês, e principalmente de uma forma muito divertida.Este projecto é muito complicado e exige aplicação mas gostaria imenso de continuar. E mesmo que não continue, usarei com certeza estas ferramentas nesta ou noutras disciplinas.

A ferramenta que eu mais gostei de usar foi o glogster.Eu gostei de realizar as tarefas, porque ajudaram-me a desenvolver a minha escrita/leitura em inglês. gostava de continuar no próximo ano para ajudar-me novamente.As vantagens sao que ajudam-nos no inglês e aprendi a usar ferramentas que não sabia utilizar. A unica desvantagem é que quando temos testes por vezes esquecemo-nos que temos tarefas para fazer.

A minha opinião...
Ao utilizarmos as ferramentas do internet explorer sugeridas pela professora tivemos mais facilidade na prática e aprendizagem do Inglês, até porque eram em maioria deste indioma. Ajudaram-me a obter uma boa nota porque com estas ferramentas pude fazer as tarefas falando directamente inglês (vocaroo e role-plays) melhorando na oralidade como também na escrita dos nossos textos e na utilização da imaginação para a realização dos trabalhos (com apresentações animadas- go animate). A experiência com o trabalho de grupo,da realização da revista, foi muito boa porque para além de expor as minhas ideias pude contar com a opinião e a colaboração dos meus colegas assim fazendo um melhor trabalho.
Estes métodos foram uma muito boa opção para o ensino do inglês visto que vão para além dos limites expostos pelo programa escolar e podemos explorar as ferramentas em casa (para outras disciplinas e projectos) e usar a nossa imaginação. Gostei bastante de trabalhar com elas e espero que para o ano haja um novo projecto como o zarco english (deste ano) assim continuando a usar e desenvolve-las.:D *.* sara sousa

Eu gostei mais deste ano de Inglês, porque houve mais actividades e diferentes. Acho que com isto comecei a perceber um pouco melhor esta língua. Se para o ano pudesse gostaria de continuar com este projecto, porque a meu ver ajuda-nos a perceber melhor o inglês, porque as tarefas são giras e temos de perceber pelo menos o básico de Inglês para poder realizar as tarefas. Este ano de inglês melhorou a minha oralidade e textos. Estas ferramentas que utilizamos também podem ajudar noutras áreas escolares, como por exemplo podemos utilizar o GoAnimate para fazer uma acção de sensibilização (área de projecto) ou até mesmo o Glogster para criar um cartaz para um trabalho.Obrigado professora Alexandra, por este ano espectacular e diferente de inglês!:D

eu gostei mais do trabalho da revista porque e creativo.gostei do projecto,achei bastante intressante e aprendemos algumas coisas novas.as vantagens dos projectos sao que aprendemos a mexer nos computadores,e a falar melhor ingles.as desvantagens e que exige muito tempo e empenho e nem sempre consegui acompanhar os trabalhos.acho que ajudou bastante e melhor o ingles.gostaria de continuar,mas vai ser mais complicado porque para o ano as coisas sao mais dificeis e isto exige muito empenho e bastante tempo livre.

Game Review

Extra Job - Commentary on games
The game that I like more is “Stop Disasters” because I think it’s more interesting and more educational. “WaterBusters” is cute and I enjoyed him a lot but I lost in second level. I don’t like the game “The Laser Challenge” because the questions are boring, but I learned a lot with him. The game that took the load was more it’s “WaterBusters” and the faster is “Stop Disasters”. The game that has better graphics is "Stop Disasters" but I like the graphics of "WaterBusters" too. I liked to play.
Extra!
My favourite game is “Stop Disasters” because we learn a lot with it, it’s educational and it’s the most interesting of all! It doesn’t take very time to load the game, the graphics are very good and it’s very easy to play! I don’t like “The laser challenge” because it’s no funny and it’s a little bit boring! The Laser Challenge
I picked The Game The Laser Challenge because it was what I found most interesting, the questions about lasers are minimally accessible and can learn certain things about this subject. This game play is a play we know we need to get things and get points in this case we still have to answer questions about the laser. The Game does not take long to load, the graphics are acceptable.
WaterBusters
WaterBusters was my favorite game because it addresses a very important aspect, ''save water".It's easy to game, because it has a good image resolution, game's idea is objective (find solutions for water problems). Auxiliary Buttons are there for help (subtitles, balloons of explanation which tell us what we may do and suggests good alternatives).I choose this game mainly because I took it was simple and others, while also forward important ideas, were more complex.
